Surrealism Max Ernst was a famous German artist, poet, painter and sculptor. He made a contribution to the surrealist movement that took place after WW1. One of his works is “The Triumph of Surrealism” which Ernst created in 1937. The painting was inspired from political events. Ernst created it to show the chaos that was happening over Europe and the ruin that fascism brings to countries. The painting looks like a monster that is about destroy something.
